Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data RankFlare ("RankFlare", "we", "us") collects when you use rankflare.in and the RankFlare app, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. RankFlare is operated from India, and we handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. Data we collect
Data you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, company name (optional) and password. We never store your password itself, only a one-way hash (Argon2).
- Access requests: if you request access from our website, the name, work email, company, website and message you enter.
- Project data: the websites, brand names, competitors, keywords, locations, devices and AI questions (prompts) you add, and the alert settings you choose, such as a Slack webhook address.
- Branding: on plans with white-label reports, the company name, website, colour and logo you upload.
- Messages: anything you send us by email.
Data created when you use RankFlare
- Results: the rankings, AI answers, citations, audits and reports RankFlare produces for your projects.
- Sign-in and security records: the IP address and browser type of each sign-in session, and a log of important account actions (for example sign-ins, password changes and project changes), so we can keep your account safe and investigate problems.
- Usage and billing records: the credits and AI budget you use, your plan, trial and subscription status, and payment references from our payment provider. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
- Free AI-readiness check: when you use the free check on our website, the domain you check and your IP address (to prevent abuse).
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, for example which pages are visited and where visitors come from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. We remove the private part of client report links before anything is sent, so the address of a shared report never reaches Google.
2. Why we use your data
- To create and run your account and provide the service you signed up for.
- To check rankings and AI answers for the keywords and questions you add, and to send the alerts and reports you ask for.
- To process payments, manage your trial and subscription, and keep billing records required by law.
- To send service emails, such as email confirmation, password resets, alerts, reports and important changes to the service. We don't send marketing emails without your consent.
- To keep RankFlare secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand how our website is used and improve it.
We use your data because you have given your consent by signing up or submitting a form, or because it is needed to provide the service you asked for, or to meet a legal obligation. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Who we share data with
We share only what each service needs to do its job for us:
| Service | What it does for us | Data it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Hostinger | Hosts our servers | All data stored by RankFlare |
| SE Ranking | Collects Google search results | Your keywords, locations, devices and the domains you track |
| OpenAI | Answers the AI questions we track, and compares page content | Your AI questions, brand and competitor names, market location, and the content of pages you compare |
| Razorpay | Processes payments and subscriptions | Your name, email and the payment details you enter on Razorpay's page |
| Brevo | Sends our emails | Your email address and the content of emails we send you |
| Google Analytics | Website analytics | Website usage data described above |
| Our email providers | Receive and store the emails you send us | Your messages to us |
| Slack | Delivers alerts, only if you add a Slack webhook | The alert messages you choose to receive |
Some of these services process data outside India, for example in the United States or the European Union. We choose established providers that protect data with appropriate safeguards. We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or RankFlare.
If you share a client report link, anyone with that link can view that report until you turn the link off.
4. Cookies
- Sign-in cookie (essential): keeps you signed in. It is secure, cannot be read by scripts, and is removed when you sign out or the session expires.
- Google Analytics cookies (analytics): such as
_ga, used to count visits and understand how our website is used.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the sign-in cookie means you can't sign in; blocking analytics cookies doesn't affect the service.
5. How long we keep data
- We keep your account and project data while your account exists, including after a subscription ends, so you can come back without losing your history.
- When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and project data within 30 days. Copies in our backups are deleted automatically within 5 weeks after that.
- We keep billing and payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- We keep security records only as long as needed to protect the service and investigate problems.
6. How we protect your data
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for everything, hashed passwords, private accounts that can only see their own projects, access logs, server firewalls and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will inform you and the authorities as required by law if a breach affects you.
7. Your rights
Under Indian law you have the right to:
- get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data (you can change most details in your account settings);
- ask us to delete your data;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect what we did before, and we may then be unable to provide the service);
- nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity; and
- raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer, and if you're not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email hello@rankflare.in from the email address on your account.
8. Children
RankFlare is a business service and is not meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as RankFlare changes. We will update the date at the top, and if a change is important, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
10. Contact and Grievance Officer
For any question or complaint about your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer at hello@rankflare.in. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. See also our Contact page.
